The ultimate truth

The ultimate truth is that there is no ultimate truth. I find that slightly reassuring and consoling. It is strangely freeing as well. It removes the constraints that govern much of religiously organised thinking.

For a Friday afternoon that is a good thought.

This also calls to mind the end of the working week: "Life is a zoo in a jungle" (Peter De Vries)

A similar thought:
Any intelligent fool can make things bigger, more complex and more violent. It takes a touch of genius, and a lot of courage, to move in the opposite direction. (Ernst F. Schumaker)

let the descent begin!

Well here we go! Maybe a photo to start things off! This is Martin (my eldest son) and Graham (Stephen's sister's husband) before the blood started flowing. They are ready to do some pruning.
